Please take note that, effective immediately, a replacement of the water heater is required in order to obtain the State Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program (SEEARP) rebate for solar water heaters. The Department of Energy has asked that we enforce the use of a single-tank design with actual removal of the existing tank, or if a 2-tank design is to be used, the replacement of the existing water heater must also occur. That auxiliary tank must also be ENERGY STAR or better. A rebate is available for this replacement under SEEARP, if ENERGY STAR and funds available, and Focus also has water heater incentives; see the recovery webpage for details on the SEEARP water heater rebate:
